In 1998, Dr. Khuong Nguyen began his career as an associate general dentist. He retained this position for a year before moving to Lutheran Medical Center for a two-year pediatric dentistry residency. After completing his residency, he worked as an associate pediatric dentist for less than three years. He created Clairemont Pediatric Dental in 2003.

Nguyen is now a licensed pediatric dentist. He is presently a Board Certified pediatric dentist in the state of California. He must maintain this certification by attending frequent training sessions and demonstrating that he is up to date on pediatric dental developments and procedures. In addition to this credential, he holds a DEA license.
